Why the Gold Price Keeps Reaching New Highs
Gold in Pakistan has climbed for years for two simple reasons. First, the international gold price has risen strongly as central banks buy gold and investors look for safety. Second, whenever the rupee weakens against the US dollar, the same ounce of gold automatically costs more in rupees, even on days when the dollar price does not move.
